Wow, I remember this day so clearly. It was the first time I met/hung out with Tony. I think shortly before this picture was taken, Nathalie, Tony and I stopped by his apartment to pick something up (his camera, perhaps?). I remember seeing all the amazing art and cool knick knacks in his room and telling him what amazing taste he has. I knew that I could trust his eye and sensibility.
The last time I spoke with him, I told him that I wanted to collaborate on something with him- whether it be scoring a piece to his art or still slides during a live performance. I wish so much that this could have happened. Tony, a true artist and gentle soul. I am lucky to have met you.
Thanks so much for hooking me up with a copy! It's such a treasure, and an honor to have been a part of such a cool zine! I'm gonna show it to my grandkids, yo.
This blog was originally started by Tony and friends to house content related to a zine Tony made called Broken Umbrella.
Since his death in 2004 this blog has become a place where we can share his photographs, zine pages, memories and mix tapes - the legacy of a fantastic friend, wonderful brother, loving son and generally rad human being.
If there is something you would like to add to this blog please email oshare(at)gmail(dot)com.
